Civilians, types of quests, difficulty
Civilians
Civilians always have something helpful to say, they often need help and will end up helping you aswell. So, it is advised that you always talk to them. After helping them, they will reward you with useful items, money, experience, reputation or important information.
Types of quests
There are several basic types of quests:
- Find someone to talk to - Sometimes civilians will ask you to go somewhere and talk with their friends or even strangers.
- Find or trade an item - Sometimes civilians need to find something, gather materials, or send a letter.
- Kill monsters - Often, civilians encounter annoying beasts and horrific monsters and they will ask the player to deal with them, promising a reward.
Difficulty
Most quests can be done only once, but there are repeatable quests that you may perform many times. Assignments vary in terms of difficulty, so in the quest list their names and icons are displayed in different colors.
- Very simple quests appear white, and their icons - gray.
- Simple quests are shown in green.
- Average quests are shown in yellow.
- Difficult quests are shown in orange.
How to complete Quests
The most useful tool when attempting to complete your quests is your map. The reason is that most quests are noted with quest item locations or quest mob locations. To open Map, click on M on keyboard or, click on Map icon on the lower quickbar, or on the mini-map to the top left of your screen, you can enlarge by clicking the globe icon:
If you take a look at the "Quest NPCs" image to the left (on this wiki page), you will see an example of how to identify NPCs with available quests. They are signified with blue exclamation marks:
You may see the following icons:
Quest Loot: Kill the mob to obtain the item.
Quest Mob: Kill the mob.
This NPC has a quest to give you.
You are currently working on a quest for this NPC.
You have completed the quest for this NPC. Visit him/her for your reward.
An important tip is to remember that MOST quest items/quest mobs are located on the same map from which you originally received the quest.
