If you want to communicate with someone who is not yet logged on, you can send messages via mail post (email). Using the mail function, you can send:
1) messages
2) items
3) gold
4) emeralds
When your character receives new mail, you will see a "new mail" icon on the top right of the screen, as well as on the login screen.
